House named “Rising Star” by NACMA

Georgia House, a Calhoun Middle School student was given the 2011 Rising Star Award and Entertainer of the Year in Traditional Country at the North America Country Music Association International. The event was held at Pigeon Forge’s Country Tonite Theater during the week of March 7 through March 12. Thirteen states were represented.

House performed two songs including “Blue,” written for Patsy Cline and made famous by Leanne Rimes.

House was earlier named “Most Promising Entertainer of the Year,” by the Georgia Music Association Award in Dalton which enabled her to compete in the North America Competition.

Georgia's Coach in singing is Ben Riley, the Music Director of Calhoun Community Church in Calhoun and his wife Jessica.

House will perform four songs at the Hard Rock Café in Atlanta on May 7.
