Whitfield County sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Rollins says the double-trailer truck crashed in the southbound lanes shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.
Georgia State Patrol Sgt. John Burnette tells The Associated Press that the driver left I-75 and struck a guardrail, and the rear trailer overturned as he tried to get his rig back on the road.
Burnette said hundreds of small bottles of sterilization fluid -- each containing a small amount of formaldehyde -- crashed onto the interstate.
Rollins said two other wrecks occurred shortly after that, and a motorist from one of those crashes sustained minor injuries.
