The Roman Court Assisted Living and Memory Care Community, 1168, Chulio Road, is one of Rome’s premier residential centers for active seniors, as well as those who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
The senior living community is a mirror image complex with virtually identical 30 room units.
David Smith, the activity coordinator at Roman Court, said that the real key to facility is its staff.
“It’s the people. They’re both caring and professional,” Smith said. “We have a lot of experience caring for those who suffer from dementia.” Clients range in age from the late 50s to more than 100 years of age.
Roman Court offers a complete range of services including assistance with bathing, dressing and medication management. The facility has a health and wellness director and makes arrangements for a physician to be available on an as-needed basis. The management also works closely with local home health agencies and hospice programs as necessary.
Smith said he has the most fun planning activities ranging from shopping trips to visits to the Berry College campus or a night at the Rome Symphony.
The management team at Roman Court is very proud of the fact that the facility has not imposed a price increase on its services for many years.
Each of the two 30-unit buildings has its own dining area, providing three nutritionally balanced meals every day. A commons sitting and exercise area is also available.
Private suites include refrigerators, a microwave and sink area. Much of the complex has been freshly painted in recent months and a project is under way to replace the carpet in the commons areas.
