AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say four people are dead, including the suspect, after an hours-long police standoff at a Colorado townhome.

Police Sgt. Cassidee Carlson says a SWAT team was called after gunshots were heard at the Aurora, Colo., home at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say three victims appeared to have been killed before officers arrived.

Carlson says the suspect was shot and killed when he exchanged fire with officers at about 9 a.m.

A fifth person escaped uninjured, but Carlson declined to elaborate.

Violence put Aurora in the national spotlight nearly six months ago after a gunman's bloody rampage inside a Colorado movie theater left 12 people dead. Prosecutors will go to court Monday to outline their case against the suspect, James Holmes.

Everybody knows that it wasn't James Holmes fault. The gun was the problem here. Prosecutors should be going to court to outline their case against the gun....not James Holmes.

THE GUN DIDN'T COMMIT THE CRIME...THE PERSON WHO OWNED THE GUN DID

According to a recent study....it was found that objects such as guns, ball bats, fireplace utensils, knives, and other kitchen tools, tend to want to play poker, drink, do drugs, and listen to loud music, etc. around 3am, just like the time in this story. These people were probably just minding their own business when a drunk, wasted gun just decided to point itself toward them and fire itself thus causing serious problems.

Another tragedy. Still in shock over the theatre shootings.
