Barnsely Gardens in Adairsville hosted its first lighting of the 170-year-old historic ruins with a special visit by Santa and his reindeer, carriage rides, gingerbread and wreath making craft classes, holiday movies, S’mores toasting and holiday sing-alongs around fire pits, and so much more, during the free, pre-Thanksgiving event open to all area visitors, not just hotel guests.

It was estimated over 1,000 people came out for the event.

Carolers and storytellers immersed everyone in the holiday spirit. Visitors posed for photos with Santa and had up-close reindeer encounters (petting encouraged). Kids were able to create holiday crafts and treats with the Fairy Godmother during the Kids Craft Session on Thanksgiving Day.

Families participated in the Gingerbread Craft Session on November 23. Other holiday fun included Wreath Making Classes on November 24.

On Thanksgiving morning, youngsters enjoyed breakfast with Santa. Later that day, the Thanksgiving Day Buffet featured traditional favorites.
