They came to compete in the Quail’s Forever Bird Dog Trail, a competition designed for the walking hunting dogs.
It was intended to attract local bird hunters with their everyday hunting dogs. No professional trainers were allowed in the competition.
After 16 braces, the scores were tallied, and Von Champion and Pete, his 6 year old white pointer, won with an outstanding score of 56.
His good friend and hunting buddy, Randall Mulkey, and his two and a half year old Brittany named Sandy came in a close second with 52 points.
Third place was taken by Charles Sewell and his pointer Bonnie with a score of 34.
Jamie Taylor captured fourth place with his German Shorthair pointer, Daisy, with a close score of 32.
It was a great day of bird dogs, bird dog tales, everyone had a great time and is looking forward to next year.
