For the first time ever, on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10 a.m., the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society will hold an auction of donated items to benefit the historic Hamilton House, Dalton’s oldest.

The auction will be held at the Crown Gardens and Archives Building, 715 Chattanooga Ave with preview days on Thursday and Friday, November 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Archives.

A large range of quality items will be offered from vintage furniture and Civil War art prints to decorative items and vintage toys. The furniture includes pianos, an organ, chairs, tables, desks, and office furniture. Credenzas, a steamer trunk, rugs, tapestries, and dishes are also available. There are Gone With the Wind and other commemorative plates and dolls.

The framed prints include one of the Men of the Fifth Georgia Civil War unit, titled, Clinch Rifles. Another print of General Robert E. Lee by William L Maughan is titled The Christain General.

Lee and His Generals is another framed print. Several other beautiful framed art, not Civil War related, are also available.

Look for other pictures of more items in the Daily Citizen Newspaper between now and November 10.

There are too many items to name--you must come and see for yourself the quality of the merchandise offered. For further information, contact Jennifer Detweiler at 706-278-0217 or wmhs@optilink.us.
