Things are not going the way Sonoraville wanted them to go so far in 2012.

The Phoenix (1-3, 0-1) are coming off a tough loss at home last Friday against Coahulla Creek on Homecoming night, and things aren't getting any easier as the schedule moves forward.

Sonoraville hosts North Murray on Friday as they try to turn things around.

The Mountaineers are 3-1 on the season, but also lost their region opener last Friday to Cartersville.

The Phoenix are still dealing with several injury issues, including running back Jackson Murray's arm injury. Murray could be out again this Friday after suffering the injury against Model two weeks ago.

That is just one of many injuries Sonoraville is dealing with, however, during a season where little has gone right.

In last Friday's game against Coahulla Creek, the Phoenix led at halftime, 7-6, before being outscored 20-7 in the second half.

The Phoenix had several plays not go in their favor, including two long touchdown runs that were negated because of block-in-the-back penalties, and a few turnovers in bad spots that led to Coahulla Creek points.

The Phoenix have had success the past two years against the Mountaineers, winning both games.

Last season, Sonoraville pulled out a win in a two-overtime thriller, 28-21, at home.

Prediction:

The Phoenix can't seem to catch a break. They are dealing with several injuries to key players and haven't been able to get a lot going consistently on offense so far this year.

North Murray is a much improved team over their first few years of varsity football, so the opportunity for a win for the Phoenix is that much tougher.

Expect a resilient performance from Sonoraville as they compete on Friday in a close loss.
