2011 10U Cherokee Bowl Highlights

Monday November 8th, 2011

Vikings (16) vs. Falcons (6)

Vikings: T. Fisher and B. Long carried the Vikings offensively and defensively to give their team an edge over the Falcons. T. Fisher was successful on 2 PAT’s and also scored a touchdown on a quarterback sneak. B. Long scored a touchdown on the night to seal the deal and help the Vikings advance to the finals where they will face the Bulldogs for the 2011 Cherokee Bowl Championship.

Falcons: C. Marycz had a nose for the ball recording a game high 5 tackles and caught an interception to make him an impact player on the defensive side of the ball for the Falcons. W. Conley added 4 tackles on the night. Offensively D. Bass punched it in the end zone to give the Falcons 6 points but not quite enough as their season comes to an end. On behalf of GCP&R we would like to THANK the Falcons’ Coaching Staff, Parents, and Players for participating in the 2011 Football program!!!

Bulldogs (16) vs. Saints (7)

Bulldogs: C. Potter and T. Baldwin accumulatively rushed for 136 yards on 13 carries and they both scored a touchdown each and added an extra point each. Defensively T. Baldwin added 2 more points when he tackled a saint for a loss resulting in a safety, L. Evans caught an interception. And A. Young recovered a fumble. H. Young recorded a team high 5 tackles on the night leading the Bulldog Defense. Bulldogs advance to the finals after a 9 point victory over the Saints to face the Vikings.

Saints: J. Attoh led the Saints on both sides of the ball recording a game high,

(tournament high 12 tackles)!!! Offensively rushing for 93 yards on 5 carries and scored a touchdown and added an extra point leaving it all on the field. N. Sullivan recorded 8 tackles of his own to give the saints a spark defensively but wasn’t quite enough as their season comes to a close.
