Neal Lamar Miller and Carolyn Josephine Terry Miller recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Sage Cottage Restaurant in Adairsville.

They grew up in the same community, fell in love and were married at the home of the late Rev. Millard Simpson who was the uncle of Lamar on June 29, 1951.

The Millers were born and raised in Floyd County. They are the parents of Leah Anglea and her husband JR of Odenville, Alabama, Jeffery Miller of Atlanta, Janet Barnett and her husband Chris of Rome, and the late Terry Miller. They have two grandchildren Savannah and Ty Barnett.

Mr. Miller is a graduate of Armuchee High School. He retired from General Electric Company. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Armuchee High School and West Georgia College. She retired from Floyd Board of Education.

They are members of West Union Baptist Church. They enjoy family genealogy, church history and have traveled extensively in the United States.

Their happiest moments have been in helping others along life’s road. Their secret for a successful marriage is a foundation built on the Bible and their trust in God.
