Dalton man, Cesar Fraire Carrillo, 22, pleaded guilty to arson concerning the October 2011 fire at the apartments at 1915 Heathcliff Drive and was sentenced to one year in prison followed by seven years on probation.

Carrillo was also sentenced to pay court charges, serve 50 hours of community service and pay restitution of $1,500 to each of the apartment tenants affected and $13,696 to the owners of the complex.

He was also sentenced to 12 months prison each for two cruelty to animals charges for two dogs that died in the fire, to be served concurrently with the arson sentence.
