Hillary Taylor Hammond and Jonathan Lawrence Whitham were married at 5:30

p.m. on October 2, 2010 at Faith Chapel in Jekyll Island, Georgia.

Taylor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hammond of Calhoun, Georgia.

Jonathan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Whitham of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Tony Olshefski of The Villages,

Florida, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Smith of Wiley, Georgia, and the late Reverend and

Mrs. Hollis Hammond of Calhoun, Georgia. The groom's grandparents are

the late Mr. and Mrs. Verle Whitham of Guilford,Indiana, and the late Mr. and

Mrs.Homer Russell of Harrison, Ohio.

The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Michael Batten. It was held

inside the historic Faith Chapel, which was constructed in 1904 for the Jekyll

Club. The chapel is a gothic-style design. At the west end of the Chapel was

an original hand-crafted stained glass work of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The

arrangements on the pews were white and cream hydrangeas, cream English,

Georgia cotton, and garden roses, with ivory stock.

A program of music was provided by the String Ambiance Trio. Selections

included "Violin Romance" from Beethoven for the seating of the

mothers. "Yellow" by Coldplay for the Groom, Groomsmen, and Bridesmaid

processional. Followed by "Canon in D" from Johann Pachelbel for the bride's

processional.

Rachel Miron Fields of Richmond Hill, Georgia was the matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Katie Clark, childhood friend of the bride, of Calhoun, Georgia,

Beth Correll, childhood friend of bride, of Kennesaw, Georgia, Brooke Scurry,

college friend of the bride, of Rhine, Georgia, and Anna Beswick, college friend

of the bride, of Southgate, Michigan.

They wore Melissa Sweet satin yoryu short strapless dresses in navy blue

with an empire bodice, chic flounce detail and with a ruffle at the hem. The

bridesmaids carried bouquets of ivory and cream hyndrangea, ivory, peach

and cream garden and english roses, peach sweet peas, Georgia cotton, and

stephanotis wrapped in ivory satin.

Niece of the groom, Maggie Whitham was the flower girl. She wore a silk and

organza ivory dress, and an ivory sweater accented with pearls.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The

bride's gown was a Melissa Sweet silk organza strapless slim gown embellished

with hand-sewn silk ribbon embroidered dogwood flowers cut from Silk Crepe de

Chine, cut silk flower bows, and Swarovski cystals. Which spilled into a dramatic

sweep at the hem and into the train. She wore a chapel length Melissa Sweet

veil with the same embroidery that was in the gown with the silk dogwood flowers

cascading down the sides of the veil into a delicate sweep around the edge of

the train. She wore diamond and aquamarine teardrop earrings, a gift from the

groom. She also wore her future mother-in-law’s diamond necklace and her

grandmother’s diamond ring. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and

cream english and garden roses, cream sweet pea, Georgia cotton, stephanotis,

and cream hydrangeas wrapped in ivory satin.

The groom's brothers Doctor Josh Whitham and Mr. Jeremy Whitham of

Indianapolis, Indiana served as best men. The groomsmen were Michael

Jefferson, childhood friend of groom, of Ithaca, New York, Jason Porter,

childhood friend of groom, of Brisbane, QLD, Austrailia, and William English,

college friend of groom, of Lexington, Kentucky.

The mothers carried tussie mussie bouquets of the same ivory and cream garden

roses, and cream hydrangeas.

Following the ceremony a reception of dinner and dancing was held on the

riverfront lawn of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.

The newlywed's were whisked away by a fire truck following the reception.

The evening before the wedding, the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal

dinner at the Frederica House in St. Simons, Georgia.

The couple had several showers and teas hosted for them. The first being a

tea in Calhoun, Georgia given by Mrs. Jane Silvers, Mrs. Linda Whitacre, Mrs.

Donna Carney, Mrs. Kathy Huie, Mrs. Cindy Hagood, Mrs. Amy Beason, and

Mrs. Sarah Weaver. A shower was also given in Calhoun, Georgia by Mrs.

Rachel Fields, Ms. Katie Clark, and Ms. Beth Correll. A shower in Indianapolis,

Indiana given by Doctor Jennifer Whitham and Mrs. Donna Whitham.

The couple will honeymoon in Oahu and Maui Hawaii. They will reside in

Indianapolis, Indiana.
