ATLANTA (AP) — Police are trying to find witnesses who were at Underground Atlanta when a man was gunned down at the downtown entertainment and shopping district.

Atlanta police Officer John Chafee says the shooting happened around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, when several people were at stores and restaurants nearby.

Officers were called to Alabama Avenue near Pryor Street and found a male victim who appeared to have been shot at least once in his chest. The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Additional information on the argument that led to the shooting and a detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.

The victim's identity has not yet been released, and authorities say the victim appeared to be in his early 20s.

Calhoun Times: What was the incident at the blue "tire" shop on 41 Tuesday? You know, where there were multiple cops from multiple agencies. I'm sure I'm not the only citizen who wishes to know what is going on in our community. Please let us know.
