Prep Football: Calhoun, GC head into playoffs on positive note; Sonoraville's season comes to an end

Calhoun, Gordon Central and Sonoraville all played their regular-season finales on Friday night with the Jackets and Warriors coming away winners before heading into the playoffs next week. Sonoraville fell to LFO to end their season.

Calhoun traveled to Chattooga and easily defeated the Indians, 49-14. The Jackets completed their fourth 10-0 regular season in a row with the win and will now host Wesleyan in the first round of the Class AA state playoffs next Friday at Phil Reeve Stadium.

Gordon Central was also a winner on Friday night, downing North Murray, 50-26, in Chatsworth. The Warriors head into the Class AAA state playoffs as the No. 3 seed from 5-AAA and will be on the road next Friday night at Morgan County.

For the Phoenix, the season came to an end on Friday with a 37-7 loss on the road at LFO. Sonoraville ends the year with a 1-9 record.
