Oostanaula School Community Club, 1595 Oostanaula Bend Road S.W., Calhoun, will be hosting a benefit on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. There will be special music from the Lake Weiss Blue Grass Band, and also an auction and cakewalk. Heritage Baptist Church in Calhoun will have a special Youth Benefit singing on Saturday, Jan.19 at 6:30 PM. Groups will include The Peacemakers, Renewed, Jimmy Temple family, Glory Bound Travelers, and Heart Felt, plus other groups. Concert is free, but love offering will be taken and all proceeds will benefit the youth of Heritage. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Jesus is the Way Baptist Church will host a singing at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 featuring Gift of Life and the Burns Family. Directions: Go to Carbondale Pilot and continue 1.5 miles south on U.S. 41. The church is across the street from Parker and Garret Junkyard. Everyone is welcomed.
New Hope Baptist Church in Ranger is hosting a singing on Saturday, Jan. 19, featuring the Jordan Family. Singing begins at 5 p.m. and food will be served. Pastor Doug Green welcomes everyone to attend. The church is located a half mile off of U.S. 411, Highway 156 in Ranger.
Calhoun Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at 318 N. River St., directly beside the Health Department. All meetings are open, and you do not have to be an alcoholic to attend, only have an interest in alcoholism. All meetings are confidential.
