A private residence located on Wrights Hollow Rd. in Calhoun is in ruins after a fire blazed through the residence, in what is unofficially considered a complete loss, according to a Gordon County Fire Department spokesman.

The fire began in the attic according to the residents who were not home at the time the fire started, at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The blaze was temporarily subdued by firefighters, and witnesses reported seeing the house engulfed in flames at approximately 6:30 p.m. The direct cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
