The Gordon County Young Farmers and Downtown Calhoun have formed a special partnership and are bringing locally grown, fresh produce to citizens of Calhoun and Gordon County.

According to Gordon County Young farmers instructor Trish Williams, the market was a success and says the organizers have big plans for the market to continue in the future is a matter of finding what works for everyone.

“We won’t do it this Monday, but will do it Monday, July 16, and then Friday, July 20, and if those go well we will continue doing them on Monday,” said Williams.

Additionally, having the market in Downtown Calhoun, will hopefully bring more people to the downtown area. According to Williams, the market hopes to feature businesses from the downtown Calhoun community for guests to see and enjoy.

Hosting the market in downtown makes the Young Farmers Market a unique and special event.

“We felt it was important. to partner with downtown to bring more people downtown and we felt like that was an important. Partnership,” said Williams.
