Mrs. Rogers was born on June 3, 1918 in Gordon County. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Loy Rogers to whom she had been married for 58 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son; Edwin Loy Rogers in 1985; by a sister, Mary Green and her husband, Dwight; by two brothers; Rob Baker, Bradley Baker and his wife, Minnie as well as a brother-in-law; Earl Champion.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by daughter-in-law; Joan Rogers Pettit. One sister, Ruth Champion. Grandchildren; Jeannie Lofton and her husband, Brad and Eddie Rogers. Great grandchildren, Austin Pratt, Jordan Pratt, Bryson Lofton and Logan Rogers. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Baker Rogers was conducted Sunday, January 14 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Thomas and Rev. Steve Champion officiating. Pallbearers included; Mike Johnson, Jason Thomas, Robert Champion, Chad Greeson, Shane Champion and Jason Champion. Interment followed the service in the Chandler Cemetery. The family received friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service.
