Mr. Carl (Babe) Stafford, 80, of Resaca passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on June 21, 1932, son of the late Horace Stafford and the late Dexter Pullman Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Seritt; and two brothers, Ralph Stafford and Herman Stafford.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hooper Stafford; two daughters, Carlena Stafford of Resaca; and Sandy King and her husband Thomas of Calhoun, siblings, Gordon Stafford, Grady Stafford, Howard Stafford, Betty Fagala, Jeanette Hayes, Mary Dean, and Brenda Seritt; and grandchildren, Brandie and Danny Carroll, Leighanna and Rob Shoemaker, Anthony Seritt, Perry Seritt, Cory and Erica Seritt, Courtney and Justin Dacus, Brittney Seritt, and Kiersten Bates. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl (Babe) Stafford were held Sunday, January 20 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment followed in the Resaca Church of Christ Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Perry Seritt, Cory Seritt, Justin Dacus, Marvin Seritt, Danny Carroll, and Dale Kerns.

The Stafford family received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour of 3 p.m.
