Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Dianne Kirby of Calhoun; four daughters, Kathy Young and her husband Randy of Calhoun, Barbara Lawson of Sugar Valley, Marilyn Kirby Roberts, and Linda Kirby Bridges, both of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Shank (Pat) and Stella Patterson of Calhoun; and four sisters, Ruth Payne and her husband Oscar of Calhoun, Gladys Saunders of Calhoun, Nola Yancey of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Fannie Payne and her husband Dennis of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Lorin A. Lawson, Lanne Lawson, Chuck (Gena) Kirby, Eric (Lisa) Satterfield, Shawn Satterfield, Ryan Satterfield, Christy (Jason) Meadows, Ritchie (Kate) Dockrey, Alex Kirby, Chase Kirby, Kelly (Randy) Black, Natalie Roberts, and Callie Walraven; and great-grandchildren, Ciera Lawson, Branton Lawson, Kalee Meadows, Jacky Meadows, Jocelyn and Minka Satterfield, Mason Dockrey, Baylee Dockrey, Samantha Coggins, Owen Gobel, and McKenzie Ashley.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Katie Mae Kirby will be held Friday, December 28 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
