Mildred was born in Gordon County, August 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Erwin and Stella Victoria Gulledge Erwin. She had formerly worked for Owens Florist and was retired from Mohawk Industries. She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church.
Mildred is survived by three sons, Bobby Mealer and his wife Brenda of Sugar Valley, Bruce Mealer and his wife Sharon of Fairmount, Roy Mealer and his wife Diane of Alabama; one daughter, Vicki Hollopeter of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 29 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Gary Hibberts and Crawford Greeson officiating; Bert Jeffords had charge of music; and burial was in Union Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bradley Mealer, Craig Mealer, Doug Thompson, Gary Prather, Randall Mulkey, and Zack Kirby. They were asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
The family received friends from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
