More than $25,000 was raised recently as a result of the 2013 Gordon Hospital Foundation Tennis Tournament.
According to Judy Jackson, director of development services for Gordon Hospital, the seventh annual event, held in partnership with the Sequoyah Tennis Association and the City of Calhoun, was held at the City of Calhoun Tennis Courts. The event raised total of $25,975.
“This year’s tournament was the most successful yet,” Jackson said. “On behalf of the Gordon Hospital Foundation, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to Jeff and Bettina Briggs for all the hours they put into making the tournament a success each year.”
The funds will be used to purchase a Rigid Laryngoscope with camera for the Harris Radiation Therapy Center at Gordon Hospital. The device is used in the examination of patients with head and neck cancers.
