The Sonoraville High School JROTC unit recently held an activation ceremony in front of school officials and families.

“I was very pleased to see the precision and execution of our cadets. Its obvious the leadership and training provided by Command Sgt. Major Joe Hill and Sgt. Ben Clemons is paying quick dividends for the growth of our program,” said Bruce Potts, SHS principal.

Cadets in the program have taken several field trips, including a major one to Fort Benning to see a U.S. Army Ranger demonstration and a future field trip includes flying in a C-130.

Gordon Central High School is slated to start the program in the fall.
