The National Weather Service reports a heat advisory is in place from noon to 7 p.m. today for Georgia.

According to the Weather Service, temperatures may not reach 100 degrees, but the heat index could make it feel like triple digits.

The combination of the hot temperatures and high humidity will make heat illnesses more of a possibility, according to National Weather Service.

The weather service advises to stay indoors and to check in on relatives and neighbors periodically.
