The Calhoun Recreation Department baseball fields were busy this week as they hosted the Georgia Parks and Recreation Class B Midget Boys (12-under) State Tournament as well as the GRPA State Class A/B/C Mite Girls Live Fast Pitch Softball State Tournament.
The baseball tournament, which featured 10 teams from around the state, got underway on Tuesday and will wrap up with the championship game Saturday at noon. The eight-team softball tournament started Thursday and will also wrap up Saturday. Both tournaments had a local representative from Calhoun.
The Calhoun team in the boys tournament had a tough time and were eliminated on Wednesday after going 0-2 in the tourney.
