Georgians who aren’t happy with the Democratic, Republican or Libertarian candidates for U. S. president have a legitimate write-in option for the Nov. 6 ballot.

Darrell Hykes, 41, of College Park, was approved by the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office as a write-in candidate — which means his votes will officially be tallied and reported.

The Hykes for the American Dream campaign, online at www.darrellhykes2012.com, was launched Sept. 4.

In a telephone interview with The Cedartown Standard, Hykes said he is currently an official write-in candidate in 16 states and expects to be approved in 28 states by election day.

He’s never run for or held political office before, but said life and professional experiences have given him the wisdom to make good decisions for the country.
