On Thursday October 18, 2012, Calhoun High Drama Club competed their one act play “Godspell” at Pepperell High School where the group was awarded first place and repeated as 7-AA region champions.

Three students were selected by the judges as All Star performers: Davis Husk as Jesus, Chandler Padgett as John the Baptist/Judas and Geanna Funes soloist for Beautiful City.

The company now goes to compete at the state competition on Saturday October 27th at Northside High School in Warner Robbins GA against region winners throughout the state.

To prepare for state competition they will present to the community two more public performances: Wednesday Night October 24th to area church youth groups and a benefit performance on Thursday October 25th. Both performances are at 7:30 and donations are requested to help cover the expenses of attending the state competition. A dessert meet and greet the cast will follow immediately after the Thursday evening performance. The public is encouraged to attend either performance at the GEM Theatre.
