Maxie was born on August 10, 1940 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of the late Druie Tony Davis and Mattie Lou Dutton. Maxie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Resaca. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, James Harbin Kirby; sister, Helen Wright; brother, Tony Davis; and daughter, Tina Fouts.
Survivors include: her son-in-law, Randy Fouts of Resaca; sister-in-law, Jean Davis of Tunnel Hill; two grandchildren: Tiffany Morgan and Leisha Grooms; five great-grandchildren; three nephews: Greg Wright, Steve Wright and Rusty Davis; and one niece, Giliti Davis also survives.
Funeral Services were conducted on Friday, October 26 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Corbin officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Steve Wright, Greg Wright, Rusty Davis, Daneward Sutherland, Shawn Sutherland, Tony Brown, Raymond Brown and Byron Brown.
The family received friends on Thursday, October 25 from 4 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
