While there are only two prep volleyball teams in Gordon County, there were plenty of memorable moments made by them to go around this past season. Both Sonoraville and Calhoun had their best seasons in their programs’ short histories, both setting single-season records for wins as well as winning playoff matches. The Lady Phoenix and Lady Jackets each had players they looked to when they needed a big play. Today, the Calhoun Times honors those players with the All-County Super Six.

Kristi Vaughn leads the team as the MVP. Vaughn was the best player on the court for the Lady Phoenix, and that’s saying something with as much talent as the team had this season. The junior setter and outside hitter recorded 495 assists, 427 digs, 200 kills and 60 aces. She was named the Area 4-AAA MVP and was also an honorable mention selection to the Class AAA State Tournament Team. This is the second year in a row she’s held the Calhoun Times’ highest honor, sharing Player of the Year last season with her sister Kailey.

For the full Super Six team with capsules and pictures of each selection, see Saturday's Calhoun Times.
