After more than 30 years of dedication to Gordon County Schools, Gail Farriba plans to dedicate a little more time to herself. A reception was held in her honor last Thursday, at Gordon Central High School to celebrate her retirement from the Gordon County Schools Board of Education.

As Financial Director for the school system, Farriba has enjoyed her time crunching numbers for the school system. She has worked under the leadership of 10 superintendents and has nothing but positive memories to take with her.

“I feel like I have grown up while working in the Gordon County School System. For the past 34 years, I have worked for and with so many people that truly have the students best interest at heart,” said Farriba.

“More than anything, I cherish the relationships I have been blessed to have. I’ve always taken my job very seriously and hope in some way that I contributed to better the lives of Gordon County students. Now, it’s time to move on to the next chapter in my life and I’m excited about the possibilities.”
