On Saturday, Dec. 1, NAPA Autoparts of Calhoun on Curtis Parkway hosted an inaugural “Gifts for Children” car show and toy drive.

Participants in the car show were asked to donate one new, unwrapped toy to have the opportunity to show off their classic car, hot rod, mini-truck, or motorcycle.

First year participation brought out more than 50 entries and approximately 100 toys donated. During the car show donations were collected and all proceeds went to Plainville Masonic Lodge’s (#364) Christmas Toy fund. All toys collected will be distributed to families in need this holiday season throughout the Gordon County community.

Plainville Masonic Lodge #364 is located at 439 County Line Rd SW, in Plainville.

This was a great event and my husband and many of the Mason's at the Plainville Lodge showed up for this day. We went and wrapped many of these toys that were donated tonight and made sure that the needy children here in Gordon County received them. I am proud to say that my husband Tim Wells is a Mason of Plainville Lodge.
