Mrs. Carol McEntyre, 72, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Gordon Hospital, following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on March 10, 1940, daughter of the late Ernest Wesley Joyce and the late Deborah Athaly Lyons Joyce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Bo” McEntyre; and two brothers, Luther Joyce and Robert Joyce.

Mrs. McEntyre was owner/operator of Bo’s Restaurant. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church for many years, and had attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Keena McEntyre of Calhoun; three daughters, Debbie Martin and her husband Greg of Plainville, Nancy Holcomb and her husband David of Calhoun, and Penny Holcomb of Calhoun; a sister, Rose Nell Hill of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Chad Martin, Rane Martin, Matthew Holcomb, Hugh Holcomb, Wesley Holcomb, Jessica Holcomb, Jeremy Landress, Ashley McEntyre, Natalie McEntyre, Bo McEntyre, Isaac McEntyre, and Shaun Brehm. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Kayla Holcomb, Kelsey Holcomb, Mollie Grizzle, and Liam Holcomb; special friend, Jackie Roberson; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol McEntyre will be held Friday, January 25 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Grandsons and Mark McEntyre will serve as pallbearers.

The McEntyre family received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
