Some students from Fairmount, Sonoraville Elementary School, Red Bud, and Swain had to be returned to school.

All after care programs are up and running until 6 p.m. Parents can pick up children at school.

School officials are working on an action plan for students who are still at school at 6 p.m.

The power is out at Sonoraville Elementary School, Sonoraville Middle School, Sonoraville High School, and there is no phone service.

School officials said, North Georgia Power is working diligently to restore power. Power is not expected to be restored before tomorrow afternoon, but Sonoraville High School and Sonoraville Middle School bus routes began around 4:25 p.m. Parents should expect delays.

Updates will be up as soon as more information is released.
