Officers were dispatched to a residence on Springdale Drive around 12:15 a.m. Sunday after a female caller requested help, saying someone had forced their way into her apartment, according to a press release from the Calhoun City Police Department.

Officers arrived and discovered two men inside the victim’s apartment; one suspect was arrested at the scene while the other fled on foot.

Detectives were called to the location and began an investigation into the break in, where they were told by the victims that two men had forced their way into the apartment, struck one victim on the head with a handgun and began threatening the victims with further violence if they did not comply with demands.

The juvenile has been charged with burglary, armed robbery, party to a crime and violation of the Georgia controlled substance act for having less than an ounce of marijuana in his possession.
