The Cherokee Promenaders Square Dance Club has titled their 2013 officers: Wanda Morgan was elected as president; Sharon Church was elected Vice President; Ronnie Langley was elected as the club caller; and Todd Preece was elected club treasurer.

The group meets every Thursday from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Calhoun Recreation building where classes are offered for non club members. From 8 – 9:30, club members get the opportunity to dance.

The year 2013 begins the 45th year the club has been in existence and more are being asked to partake. Classes run between 24 to 26 weeks, and for $3 a class, the first three classes are free. According to Morgan, all ages are welcome, “as long as they know their right from their left.” The club teaches performs many kinds of dances from the western square dance to the waltz.

For more information on how to become involved, contact Wanda Morgan at 706-266-7284.
