Chapin Rierson led the way with 20 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks in the win. Hunter Norman added 10 points, and Dylan Greeson had nine. The team finished the season 16-1.
Coach Bryan Abernathy had this to say about his squad: "This team is one of the most fundamentally sound and balanced teams I have had. They are all super kids who buy in to what we try to do and do their part to make our team better. They were fun to coach and will be missed. By repeating as Region Champs, they have set the bar high for next year's squad. It's great to be a Jacket!"

The Calhoun Middle School girls basketball team won the Bartow Gordon Middle School Athletic Association Region Tournament on Friday by defeating Cass, 43-41, in the Championship game.
The Lady Jackets trailed 26-23 after the third quarter, but rallied to outscore Cass 20-15 in the final period. Ryan Brzozoski led the way with 16 points, nine in the fourth quarter. Alexis Nallie had 10 points and 14 rebounds, Jana Johns had nine points, Cassie Henderson scored eight and Ashlyn Barnes added seven steals and 12 assists. The team finished the season with a 15-2 record with their only two losses coming to Cass in the regular season.
The title was Coach Diane Smith and the Lady Jackets' seventh straight region championship as they've compiled a record of 114-4 in that span.
