Beautification Committee to give away free trees for Arbor Day

The Calhoun Beautification Committee, with volunteers from the Gordon County Master Gardener Association, will distribute 4,600 free trees on Georgia Arbor Day, Friday, February 15 from 10 a.m. until the trees as gone.

The distribution will take place at the Northwest Georgia Livestock Pavilion, located at 1034 Ga. 53, SW. Parking is available on the north and south sides of the building.

Each person will be given 20 tickets to exchange for 20 trees.

The following trees are available:

  • 500 Bald Cypress (limit three)

  • 1,000 Crape Myrtle (limit five)

  • 1,000 Dogwood (limit five)

  • 500 Red Bud (limit three)

  • 50 Red Cedar (limit one)

  • 500 Red Maple (limit three)

  • 1,000 River Burch (limit five)

  • 50 Wild Plum (limit one)
