A small line of storms which produced a "down burst" of winds has downed several trees from Belwood Rd. to Hwy 53.

No injuries have been reported, though approximately 10 homes reportedly have received damage from the burst, according to EMA Director Richard Cooper, some losing power.

"What happens is when these storms come through you get these straight line winds, 45 mph winds and those cells produce down bursts," said Cooper, who continued on to explain the downed trees fell the opposite direction of the storm.

Gordon County Sheriff's Deputies are canvassing the area for injuries, however none have been reported.

North Georgia Electric is reportedly on the scene and is working to restore power, however some damage may not allow for power to be restored right away.
