“I love to cook because I like to feed people,” shared Tammy Burchett. “I love to see them smile.”

Growing up in Gordon County, Burchett said she taught herself how to cook. “Mom cooked home- cooked meals but she worked all of the time,” claimed Burchett.

“When I was 13, I started cooking for myself and my little brother and friends.” Burchett said she started off experimenting with Pigs-in-a-Blanket and biscuits with cinnamon.

“My brother loved the biscuits with cinnamon so much, he would eat so many of them that it would make him sick,” laughed Burchett.

As Burchett grew older, she began to experiment to expand her culinary skills. Now that is an adult, she finds herself in the kitchen with her boyfriend, Jerry. “We have fun cooking together,” shared Burchett.

“I was so used to doing it all by myself and now I have someone that helps me.” Burchett says that she generally cooks two or three times a week when her children visit but if her boyfriend is in town, cooking is a daily thing for them as a couple.

Burchett stays busy with her full time job as a sales and marketing manager for WEBS and Kickin’ 94.5 Country. Burchett said that she enjoys her job and has been with the radio station for over 13 years.

When Burchett isn’t working, she loves to spend time with her family. She spends most of her time traveling with her daughter, Audria, as she tours the U.S. to pursue her singing career and traveling to visit her boyfriend, out of state. She also enjoys working out, riding motorcycles and horses, and is currently in the process of getting certification for scuba diving.

Today, Burchett is sharing her most requested recipes of “Baked Spaghetti,” “Okie Style Corn,” and “Peach Dump Cake.”
