February recognized Career Technical Student Organizations throughout the state of Georgia, and Calhoun City Schools was no exception. CTSO’s provide experiences and learning opportunities for students that expand upon the career pathways offered at the Calhoun College and Career Academy. Officers of FCCLA, HOSA, FBLA and SkillsUSA were on hand at the February board of education meeting to present their organizations to board members and those in attendance. They shared the importance of these organizations and highlighted recent activities that their respective groups have participated in. CTSO’s are a vital part of the educational setting and are a great way for students to put the skills they learn in the classroom into action. Each of the programs at the Calhoun College and Career Academy are enhanced by participation in statewide competions and leadership development provided by the CTSO’s.
