Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect in Gordon and Northwest Georgia

Gordon County and much of Northwest Georgia is under a severe thunderstorm watch tonight until 10 p.m. The National Weather Service stated that storms will intensify through the afternoon and spread over much of Georgia with the possibility of strong to severe storms with large hail and damaging winds. There is a possibility of isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Gordon County until 6:15 p.m. tonight.

The warning comes from two areas of rotation seen on doppler radar inside a line of severe thunderstorms.

Calhoun, Resaca, Dalton, Chatsworth and Eaton are included in the warning area.
