Two Calhoun men have been arrested following a Wednesday night traffic stop.

Jimmy Hyde, 53, of 1142 Newtown Loop was arrested on Wrights Hollow Road after deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle. Hyde was given a field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

A search of the automobile by deputies revealed several pounds of packaged marijuana. The passenger, Ricky Floyd, 53, of 109 Meadowbrook Road, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.

Both men are lodged in the County Jail pending bond proceedings.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston said that his deputies have seized over 100 pounds of marijuana in the past six weeks, in an ongoing effort to target distributors of illegal drugs.
